The accommodation, plenary sessions and working group meetings will be at the Hotel Jens Baggesen, Batterivej 3-5, DK 4220 Korsør, telephone + 45 58 35 10 00 (www.hotel-jens-baggesen.dk), located in the centre of Korsør.
IMPORTANT Denmark still uses Danish Krone as currency, however, major credit cards (VISA) can by used almost everywhere. Some shops takes Euro, however, normally to a bad exchange rate.
Speakers will make use of the AV equipment provided. Please bring your presentations on a USB memory stick or CD. An internet connection will be available for presentations and wireless access to the internet in the hotel should be possible.
From Copenhagen Airport, Korsør can be reached by direct trains or with one change at the main station of Copenhagen depending on time. Trains leave Copenhagen Airport at 35 and 49 minutes past the hour. Trains leaving at 35 minutes past may go direct. The journey takes approx. 1½ hrs. Trains in the opposite direction leave at 16 and 42 minutes past the hour. Exact times can be found at www.Rejseplanen.dk/bin/query.exe/en? and you can put Copenhagen Airport or Kastrup as well as Korsor and Korsoer in the search formulae. From Korsør to the hotel taxi (10 € and 10 minutes) or bus numbers 500, 501 and 502. Travelling by bus is included in the train ticket.
Single room 635 € for the period 26 April to 1 May including breakfast and lunch for partners, and for invited people costs will be approx. 550 €. Double rooms approx. 1100 € for the period 26 April to 1 May including breakfast and lunch for partners. Evening meals to be taken in local restaurants. The excursion on Saturday 30 April will cost approx. 60 € per person which will have to be paid during the workshop. Sandwiches will be offered during the trip.
Participants funded by the University of Birmingham: Accommodation will be paid for in advance; please pay for your own meals and claim reimbursement after the workshop. Claim forms will be provided at the workshop.
On Saturday 30 April, there will be a visit to the island of Sprogø situated in the middle of Storebælt, with a rather special nature. The Storebælt Bridge, which was once the largest in the world, and the Viking fortress Trelleborg (www.vikingeborg.dk) will also be visited. Depending on the weather, a walk in a Danish beech forest and/or along the beach will be possible.
I (Kell Kristiansen) would like to ask each participant to bring something from their country’s cuisine so we can end the workshop with a food party on Friday evening. The party will be at the hotel.
