About the PGR Forum Crop Wild Relative Information
System
The PGR Forum Crop Wild Relative Information System (CWRIS)
is one of the products of the European Crop Wild Relative Diversity Assessment
and Conservation Forum (PGR Forum), funded by the European Community Fifth
Framework Programme for Energy, Environment and Sustainable Development.
The system contains:
A searchable
catalogue of
crop wild relatives of Europe and the Mediterranean region
An information management model for crop wild relative
data, illustrated with a number of
case studies, and
with an accompanying
XML
schema

The content of CWRIS is the result
of collaborative efforts by all participants in the PGR Forum project. A full
list of names of PGR Forum participants can be found on the project
web site.
The system was developed at the University of
Birmingham by
J.D.
Moore and
S.P.
Kell on behalf of the PGR Forum project.
CWRIS is hosted by the University of Birmingham, which is
the coordinating institute of the PGR Forum project. CWRIS will be hosted
by IPGRI on behalf of the ECP/GR Secretariat at the end of the PGR Forum project
to ensure its sustainability.
